Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.  

The closest station to the stadium is Gosford on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. The stadium is a short walk from the station.   

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device. Register your details online at Opalor via the Opal Travel app ahead of time. 

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual as fans travel to the match in the busy evening peak.  

Traffic will be heavier than usual after the match as a New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display takes place nearby. Roads will be closed between 6am and 11.30pm. Allow extra time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions livetraffic.com.  

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham.  

On New Year’s Eve, Metro services will run every 10 minutes until midday, then every 4 to 5 minutes from midday until 2am on New Year's Day. Service frequency will then return to every 10 minutes.

Change at Epping or Central to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford.

The closest station to Industree Group Stadium is Gosford on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. From the station, the stadium is a short walk away via Showground Road and Dane Drive.

Red Bus Services and Busways service the Central Coast area.

Routes 19, 21, 22, 23, 64 and 67 run towards Gosford making stops near the stadium.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

At Central, change for a Central Coast & Newcastle Line train to Gosford Station.

Service changes on New Year's Eve: 

  • L1 services run regularly from 5am and will be extended until 4am on New Year's Day. 
  • From 8pm to 2.30am services will not run between Convention and Central Grand Concourse due to expected large crowds and road closures. Continue on foot to Central for train and bus connections. 
  • From 2.30am to 4am services will resume running as normal along the entire line. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

At Central, change for a Central Coast & Newcastle Line train to Gosford Station.

Service changes on New Year's Eve: 

  • L2 and L3 services run regularly from 5am and will be extended until 4am on New Year's Day.  
  • From 2pm to 7pm services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay due to event road closures. 
  • From 7pm to 4am services will not run between Central Chalmer Street and Circular Quay due to event road closures. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Epping or Central to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings. Read the news story for more information.

Service changes on NYE:

  • L4 services run regularly from 5am and will be extended until 4am on New Year's Day. 
  • From 7am to 10.30pm, services will run approximately every 9 minutes.
  • From 10.30pm to 4am (Wednesday 1 January 2025), services will run every 15-20 minutes.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to and from the match. Allow extra travel time and use local parking.  

Dane Drive will close from 2:30pm between the Central Coast Highway and Donnison Street for the safety of pedestrians, and will reopen once crowds have cleared the area.

New Year's Eve Road Closures

Keep in mind that due to New Year's Eve events, roads around Gosford will be closed between 6am and 11.30pm to support crowds gathering for the NYE Fireworks display. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.  

  • Georgiana Terrace closed between Dane Drive and Bakers Lane from 11am to 11:30pm. 
  • Baker Street closed between Georgiana Terrace and Vaughan Avenue from 6am to 11:30pm.  
  • Vaughan Avenue closed from 6am to 11:30pm.  
  • Brian McGowan Bridge closed for fireworks display between 8:45pm and 9:15pm.
