Important Travel Advice

With large crowds travelling to The Weeknd concert in the busy evening peak on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 October, significant delays are expected on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park. A concert is also taking place at the same time on Tuesday night at neighbouring Qudos Bank Arena.

Concertgoers are urged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid the traffic delays. The Weeknd concert tickets include travel on public transport and plenty of extra train services are running.

  • Express and limited-stop trains to Olympic Park will run regularly from Central and Western Line stations, with frequent return services after the show. From Olympic Park station, the stadium is a short 10-minute walk away.

Getting around is easy with the Opal Travel app. The Opal Travel app is the official Transport for NSW app to help you get around public transport. You can plan and save your trips, check your travel activities and fares, top up on the go and more. Download the FREE Opal Travel app now.

If you have no other option but to drive, you must have pre-booked parking

  • Do not drive unless you have pre-booked parking. Spots are expected to sell out in advance so it is essential that you pre-book parking online to guarantee a car space. A flat rate $35 parking fee applies.
  • Carpool with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time as traffic will be heavy approaching the precinct and entering car parks.
  • If you have pre-booked parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.
  • After the show, traffic will be very heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks.
  • You can also consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park, at no extra cost.
  • Allow plenty of extra travel time on the roads and plan your trip before leaving home. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com

If you're getting dropped off or catching rideshare

  • The nearest Taxi Rank to Accor Stadium is at Herb Elliott Avenue at Park Street.

  • After the concert, demand for Taxis and rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed.

Arrive early to enjoy the pre-event atmosphere in the precinct. Local cafes and restaurants will be open, and Fig Grove opposite the stadium will be a hub of food-trucks and entertainment. Some venues will operate extended trading hours if you want to avoid queues of crowds leaving the precinct after the show.
