Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and consider all the available travel options. Match tickets include travel on public transport

Trains and buses run regularly to Parramatta Station, where you can connect with light rail services from Parramatta Square to the Prince Alfred Square stop and walk to CommBank Stadium via Victoria Road. Alternatively it's a 15-minute walk from the station. Some buses also make stops outside the stadium on O’Connell Street.

Traffic may be heavier than usual in the area as fans travel to the match in the busy evening peak and afterwards as everyone leaves car parks at the same time. Be patient and follow the directions of traffic controllers and Police. If you’re travelling home by taxi or rideshare, choose a pick-up location away from the stadium to avoid traffic delays. Roads around the stadium may close (pdf 270KB) after the game to allow crowds to safely leave the precinct. Bus stops outside the stadium will be closed and buses will use different stops nearby. Check signs and follow directions of staff.

Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to Western Sydney Wanderers 2024/2025 season home games at CommBank Stadium includes travel to and from CommBank Stadium on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations) 
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses 
  • Sydney Metro services 
  • Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services 
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries 

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to Western Sydney Wanderers 2024/2025 season home games at CommBank Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Chatswood or Central for a train service to Parramatta. Alternatively change at Epping for a bus, or for a train service to Strathfield to connect with trains to Parramatta.

The closest station to CommBank Stadium is Parramatta.  

From Parramatta you can connect with light rail services from Parramatta Square to Prince Alfred Square stop and walk to CommBank Stadium via Victoria Road. Alternatively it's a 15-minute walk from the station via Church Street and Victoria Road.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Friday 17 January on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. 

  • City Circle: From 10.30pm, trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel around the City use metro, light rail or local bus services. T4 Eastern Suburbs Line trains continue to run between Central and Bondi Junction. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: From 10.30pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra and Wynyard only. Trains will not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. If travelling to the City change at Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross for metro services, or change at Wynyard for the light rail or local bus services. 
  • T1 Western Line: From 10.30pm, Penrith trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12 only, and make extra stops at Flemington, Homebush and Burwood. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services. Richmond trains run between Richmond and Liverpool only. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 10.20pm, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run, stopping at Strathfield, Burwood, Redfern and the City. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Granville and between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. T1 Western Line Penrith trains make extra stops at Flemington, Homebush and Burwood.  
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 10.20pm, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. Express trains continue to run. Trains run between Leppington or Liverpool and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. T1 Western Line trains make extra stops at Flemington, Homebush and Burwood.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 10.30pm, some trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Most trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: From 10.30pm to 2am, trains via the Airport start and end at Central due to City Circle trackwork. Trains between Sydenham and the City will not run. T4 trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 
  • T9 Northern Line: From 10.30pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, due to City Circle trackwork. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services.

Regular route buses 

A number of buses run to and from Parramatta Interchange, where you can connect with light rail services from Parramatta Square to Prince Alfred Square stop and walk to CommBank Stadium via Victoria Road. Alternatively it's a 15-minute walk from the station via Church Street and Victoria Road. See the CommBank Stadium transport and walking route map (pdf 3.9MB) to find your way.

Alternatively, buses leave regularly from Stand A4 at Parramatta Interchange and make stops on O’Connell Street outside the stadium. These routes include 546, 600, 601, 603, 604, 606 and 706. All bus services are accessible. 

Bus diversions 

Roads around the stadium may close (pdf 270KB) after the match to allow crowds to leave the precinct safely, including sections of O’Connell Street, Ross Street and Victoria Road.

The following bus stops will be closed and routes 546, 549, 550, 600, 601 and 606 will be diverting while the road closures are in place. See the road closure and transport map (pdf 270KB) for more details and alternative bus stop locations: 

  • Parramatta Leagues Club, O'Connell Street will be closed – alternative stop O’Connell Street opp Harold Street (for services towards the Hills and North West) 
  • Our Lady of Mercy College, O'Connell Street will be closed – alternative stop O’Connell Street at Fennell Street (for services towards Parramatta Station) 
  • Victoria Road after Villiers Street will be closed – alternative stop All Saints Anglican Church, Victoria Road (for services towards Parramatta Station) 
  • Victoria Road before Marist Place will be closed – alternative stop O’Connell Street opp Harold Street (for services towards the Hills, Epping and Macquarie Park) 

Note: Victoria Road opp All Saints Anglican Church is open for services towards Central/Railway Square via Ryde.

The closest wharf to CommBank Stadium is Parramatta Wharf.

From the wharf, walk to the Robin Thomas light rail stop via the riverside and Argus Lane to connect with services to Prince Alfred Square to get within walking distance of CommBank Stadium.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Parramatta but services are popular and may reach capacity. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

Please note, F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for trains to Parramatta where you can connect with light rail services or walk to the stadium. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

From Central, change for trains to Parramatta where you can connect with light rail services or walk to the stadium.

If you’re driving to the game, plan to arrive early as car parks in the area are expected to be in high demand. Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium. Allow extra travel time on roads including Parramatta Road, Church Street, Victoria Road, James Ruse Drive and Pennant Hills Road. 

Motorists should also exercise caution as pedestrian activity will be high on roads between Parramatta Interchange and the stadium.  

Drivers are reminded that light rail services are running through Parramatta CBD. Trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so exercise extra caution when driving in the area. Read the news story for more information. 

Road closures 

Roads around the stadium may close (pdf 270KB) after the match to allow crowds to safely leave the venue. Roads will re-open once crowds have cleared the area. 

  • O’Connell Street from Grose Street to George Street 
  • Ross Street from O’Connell Street to Trott Street 
  • Victoria Road from O’Connell Street to Villiers Street 

While closures are in place motorists are encouraged to avoid driving through Parramatta CBD and detour around the closures via Grose Street, Brickfield Street, Victoria Road and Wilde Avenue in both directions. See our road closure and transport map for more details. 

Roads around the stadium will close as crowds make their way to the game. Roads will re-open once crowds have cleared the area.

A taxi rank is located on the eastern side of Villiers Street between Ross Street and Victoria Road.

Note: O’Connell Street is a no-stopping zone. Taxis or any other vehicles are not permitted to drop off or pick up any passengers at any time.

Attendees who are being picked up or dropped off are encouraged to pre-plan a location away from the stadium to avoid traffic delays.

Parramatta Car Parks

Fans driving to the game should allow plenty of extra travel time as parking is expected to be in high demand. 

The following car parks are within walking distance of the stadium. There's no public parking available on-site at CommBank Stadium on game days:

  • Eat Street Car Park, entry via George Street
  • Justice Precinct Car Park, entry via Hunter Street
  • Parramatta Station Car Park, entry via Wentworth Street
  • Parramatta Leagues Club, O’Connell Street at Eels Place: Note pricing for the car park is dependent on if you are a Leagues Club Member (not a Football Club Member). Visit Parra Leagues Club for more info.

Attendees with mobility impairments or accessibility requirements can catch one of the regular route bus services that leave from bus stand A4 at Parramatta Interchange and make stops on O’Connell Street outside the stadium, including routes 600, 601, 603, 604, 606 and 706.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services are also accessible.
