Getting to Newcastle

Newcastle is at the heart of the Newcastle and Hunter region, around 160 kilometres north of Sydney. Intercity and NSW TrainLink Regional trains run frequently to Newcastle Interchange.

There are a number of bus, ferry and light rail services operating to help you get around Newcastle easily. On Demand bus trial services run in Lake Macquarie through Dudley, Mount Hutton and Warners Bay. Electric bikes (eBikes) are also available to hire from 19 docking stations across Newcastle.
